The Homestead Marching Band's mission statement is to work hard with a positive attitude to achieve the "Golden Performance!" The performance is the goal, not the trophy. Trophies are simply "pats on the back" for jobs well done.

- Bands of America prelims – 2nd place Class 3A
- Out of the 31 bands from 4 states in competition, Homestead was one of 10 bands to go on to finals!
- Bands of America finals – 6th place!

It was another banner weekend for the Homestead Music Department.
The Homestead High School Mighty Mustang Marching Band and Colorguard performed another outstanding field show on Saturday, October 17th. The following is a list of awards received at the WBA Independence High Field Show Competition:
- First place in Music, Visual, and Percussion for AAAAA Division
- 4A/5A Sweepstakes – highest field show score over all bands in AAAA and AAAAA divisions!

The awards received at the Cupertino Tournament of Bands Saturday, October 10th:
- TOB Parade – 1st place Large Band Division; 1st place Auxiliary Large Band Division
- TOB Field Show – 1st place Large Band Division; 1st place percussion; 2nd place brass, 2nd place auxiliary
- Grand Sweepstakes – highest combined parade and field show score over all bands!
