I have received a few emails from concerned parents regarding the possibility of radiation from the problems in Japan.
From what we can see and hear, radiation should not be an issue while we are in Hawaii. We continue to hear that there is no risk to anyone in the US. We have been in direct contact with the tour company and contacts who live in Hawaii. Currently there is no concern regarding radiation. We will hear from these sources if anything changes.
We are fortunate that we live at a time when information is so readily available. Marty Wong (thank you Marty!!) found the attached information on the web, from the California Department of Public Health website, http://www.cdph.ca.gov/Pages/RadiationFAQS2011.aspx. You can also google 'Hawaii public health radiation' to see what Hawaii officials think.
