Do not underestimate the power of rest. We all perform well when properly rested. It is important to get a good night's sleep before taking finals. Make time to sleep; you will do better if you sacrifice some of your studying for sleep.

HHS filmmakers receive recognition in directing change

Congratulations to Homestead team for receiving 3rd place in the Regional High School Mental Health Matters category of 2018 Directing Change Program and Film Contest. Led by Kevin Shum, the team with Joseph Cho, Alexander Luong, Vikram Shirsat and Varun Kiragi, and Ms. Carrie Nakamura as advisor, produced the short film "Break Free" to help raise the awareness of mental health to our students and community. Click here to view the short film.

HHS teacher Andrea Westgate is FUHSD Teacher of the year

Math teacher Andrea Westgate was recognized by Homestead High School as their 2018 Teacher of the Year and was also honored by the Fremont Union High School District as District Teacher of the Year. Homestead is lucky to have Ms. Westgate as a faculty member! Read this Mercury News article honoring her.

The 11th Annual EL Speech Contest was held on May 10th at Fremont High School. Thank you to everyone who was able to make it last night and to the staff members who were judges and chaperones. The ELD Department is sincerely thankful for all your support. The Rotary Club of Cupertino is hosting their third annual Student Poetry Contest with the theme "Serving Humanity."  Students from Homestead are invited to submit poems that address the topic “Service above Self”. Cash prizes up to $100! Submission deadline is June 21st. See the attached flyer for details.

In our ongoing efforts to improve the facilities at Homestead High School supported by Measure K improvement funds, we will soon be embarking on a new phase of an infrastructure modernization project at the front of the school, including an Innovation Hub that will house computer labs, digital arts, a maker space and more. Construction will begin during summer 2017.
