HHS Senior teaches science to low-income sunnyvale students

Homestead High School senior Shirya G. applied to and was accepted for a prestigious and very expensive two week science summer Shriya.JPGprogram but due to the high cost she was unable to go.  However, rather than letting that defeat her, Shriya used the opportunity to reach out to younger low-income students in north Sunnyvale so that they could learn more about science and hopefully have the same opportunities as those with greater means.  Read more in the San Jose Mercury News about her endeavor to give back to the community.
